Lancaster
Towing in Lancaster, TX.
Lancaster is farther down I-35E than DeSoto. We cover it from south Dallas. The drive is longer than Oak Cliff and still nothing like a run to the north suburbs.
Getting there
35E south, then a real surface street.
I-35E is the way into Lancaster from our base, past DeSoto. Pleasant Run Road and Belt Line Road are the big crosses. Dallas Avenue runs toward the older downtown square, which is the landmark people use when they are not on the freeway. A breakdown on 35E through Lancaster, or on the frontage near the retail, should come with a direction and an exit. Downtown Lancaster is the opposite kind of call: slow streets, angled parking, and a car that quit in a spot a large truck has to approach carefully. Say if you are on the square or in a neighborhood east or west of 35E. Those are different drives once the truck leaves the freeway.
Distance, said plainly
Farther than DeSoto. Much closer than Plano.
1241 Willow Glen Dr is in south Dallas. Lancaster is south again, past DeSoto. A truck covers real miles to get there, especially to the east side of town or to a car south of town toward Wilmer. We would rather say that than publish a Lancaster page that reads like we have a yard on the square. For a planned tow or a junk car, the miles are just part of the quote. For a car in a live lane, ask dispatch what the timing looks like and decide with that answer, not with a sentence on a website. The line is answered 24 hours either way.
What the calls are
Highway shoulders, home driveways, and cars that have sat.
Highway calls are the urgent ones. The everyday ones are a battery at a house off Pleasant Run, a flat with no spare, a lockout, or a car that has been sitting long enough that the tires are down and the brakes are doubtful. A car that has sat in a yard may not roll, and it may not be reachable without moving something else. Mention both. If it is an accident on 35E, the same rules apply as in Dallas: people first, then the location, then the shop you want the car taken to. We do not pick the body shop.
One operation
Dallas dispatch, Lancaster included.
There is not a separate Lancaster fleet. Flatbeds, wreckers for the occasional box truck, roadside service, and winch-outs are sent from the same dispatch that covers Dallas. If the vehicle is a motorcycle, or it is all-wheel drive and you care about how it is towed, say so. If you need it taken out of Lancaster to a shop in Dallas, that is a normal local-plus tow and not a long-distance haul. Long-distance is a different page and a different kind of schedule. For Lancaster itself, call the 24-hour number and give the cross street.
Common questions
Questions about this.
How far is Lancaster from you?
The base is 1241 Willow Glen Dr in south Dallas. Lancaster is south on I-35E, past DeSoto. It is a real drive and one of the closer suburbs, not a north-Dallas trip. Ask on the call if you need a picture of the current run.
Do you cover the square and the east side, or only the freeway?
Both. The freeway, Dallas Avenue, and the neighborhoods off Pleasant Run and Belt Line are the same service. A tight street around the square is worth describing so the truck can get in.
