We buy junk cars.

A car that will cost more to repair than it is worth does not need recovering to a shop. Removing it is usually the cheaper end to the story, and it clears the driveway or the yard at the same time.

The two things that decide whether a junk car can be collected are whether you hold the title and whether the vehicle can be reached by a truck. A car with no title, or one boxed in behind two others in a garage, is a different job — not impossible, just worth mentioning on the phone rather than on the day.

Non-running is normal — that is most of what gets collected. The questions that actually change the equipment are different ones. Does it still roll, or are the wheels gone or seized? Is it reachable, or is it behind a gate, up against a fence, or boxed in by other vehicles? Has it sunk into soft ground after sitting through a few seasons? A car that can be winched straight onto a bed is a simple job; one that has to be dragged out of a back yard past two other vehicles is not, and finding that out on arrival helps nobody. Mention ownership paperwork on the call too, since that usually needs to be sorted before anything moves.
